Welcome
Thank you for visiting Stop the Hays County Power Grab. This web site is being sponsored by Texas Heritage Kitchen for the people of Hays County, Texas. We created this web site to alert you about the corruption of justice we are encountering from a majority in the Hays County Commissioners' Court.
On April 17, 2007, after a closed session of court with no notice to us, Judge Sumter and Commissioners Ingalsbe and Ford voted to revoke our septic permit. This action wiped out our investment and our property rights. The only reason given was that they disagreed with the Environmental Health Department, who issued the permit. This action was taken after a prior Commissioners Court had already agreed with EHD. With the help of the Hays County Open Information Act Policy, we began to probe into the actions of various members of the Commissioners Court and discovered corruption and cronyism.
The other two commissioners oppose what the majority has done. Here's what Commissioner Will Conley was quoted as saying in the June 6, 2007, issue of The Free Press:
"I think the county reaps what it sows. If this goes uncorrected, it sets a dangerous precedent of government officials directly involving themselves in the private market for their own political benefits. It's anti-American as far as I'm concerned." Conley also went on to say, "It's the most egregious power play of government that I have ever been associated with and I believe it was done strictly for political reasons to appease the people next door. It was based on politics and personal interest and I find that ironic coming from a county judge who campaigned almost solely on corruption in the courthouse."
There are important issues at stake that may affect your own property rights. We want you to know what has been happening to us and how it may affect you. We have endured a very painful and costly nightmare of government harassment, and if this behavior is allowed to go unchallenged, it will happen again, maybe next time to you. Please start by reading Who’s Who and Timeline, in order to get an overview of the people, agencies and events mentioned throughout our web site. After that, please explore in any order that interests you.
We thank you for visiting, and we appreciate your support.
